Day of Travel to Fredericton, New Brunswick

The day of travel was long with Team South Fraser meeting at the YVR at 9AM on Mother's Day. Check-in was really easy with Air Canada having all boarding passes sorted out for us ahead of time. Susan and I managed to get everyone checked in by 10AM. We had time for a team photo and then we were off to get through security. No hitches were encountered so we went forward to Gate C48 to wait to board flight AC194 to Montreal.  After boarding, all our finalists had settled in and kept themselves busy for the 5 hour flight.

Susan, Shelby, Meaghan, Sonia, Abhi, Natasha, Om, James, Tony, Favian

We arrived in Montreal around 7PM EDT and had a one hour layover for our flight to Fredericton. The Finalists were getting a bit hungry so we planned on picking up a snack or sandwich at next waiting area. This was when experienced the most expensive food stand ever. Sandwiches were over $12. Add a drink and taxes and they light snack ended up costing almost $20.

AC111 arrived in Fredericton a little past 10PM ADT and were greeted by the most energetic and warm reception by Team UV at the tiny little airport. After gathering all our luggage and bits, we boarded our coach bus and arrived at the UNB shortly after 11PM. Rooms got sorted out and everyone got settled in very nicely.  It was still early evening back at home in Surrey/Delta so the Finalists were not that tired yet, but Susan and I insisted that they get to bed by midnight for an 8AM start.

Our greeter Beth. Thank you for the warm welcome Fredericton!

All of our Finalists are excited to be here and have been absolutely wonderful during our long travel here. We are all looking forward to a good night's rest and a nice start for project set up day.
